This stormy weather has awakened my heart today.
The thunder and lightening reminders of what once was…
a tension between us,
suspect and tears, angry words stinging souls.
I am ever glad when the Holy wind blows it away…
when the darkness gives way to new light, and we can breathe in a space together.
And now only this singular movement across the horizon of our soul remains.
It is the wind…
which has no color, taste nor smell.
Yet I know it is there, for it leaves behind a trail.
Soft as a breeze it gently whispers in your ear…
and I see all that it touches.
Slowly you are moving, swaying… listening to whispers,
new voices, new winds.
I will not wait for a storm to begin again.
Are you still listening to the Holy wind…
telling you all that keeps your heart at peace?
Are you standing strong upon the Rock that is your salvation
holding you steady, guarded, shielded in His fortress?
Or are you allowing the whispering winds…
these new voices surrounding you
to tell you who you have become?
Because I see you swaying in that wind…
and I am reaching forward, stretching out, never letting go.
I will be louder than those whispers.
I will always be the voice of caution until I know that you are safe
guarded in the fortress…
out of harms way, when the storm decides to billow and blow.
I bow low before my LORD,
ever in prayer for you…
that you hear His voice deep within your soul.
For I know that He can send His holy wind upon your heart as He does mine.
And when He cautions me…
when He awakens me, calling me to you,
I will be there, always.
Choose wisely who you let whisper in your ear…
choose carefully those who are granted access,
close enough to blow you to and fro.
For even the smallest of breezes can take you off course,
altering… directing the course of your life.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my Savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
Psalm 18:2 (NLT)
This is as series of letters written for the love of all of our daughters…
the LORD loves them all.
