Truth is a standard, a scale, a ruler by which we measure all things.
It is not a variable, that changes over time.
It is not relative or dependent to your current circumstance,
your job situation, your background or your heritage.
We do not, contrary to society’s definition of the truth,
get to change it, decide it, or tweak it.
it would not be the truth.
The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.
And you must love the Lord your God
with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly
to these commands that I am giving you today.
Repeat them again and again to your children.
Talk about them when you are at home and
when you are on the road,
when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.
Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NLT)
This year, I began a study of the Chronological Bible.
It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made!
It has changed my perspective, my attitude, and my view of God.
I have truly grown to understand Him in a way I did not know possible.
People think that the Old Testament is out of date, and unnecessary.
And they could not be farther from the… truth!
The entire New Testament is completely based on the Old.
In fact, we would have no need for the New,
if not for the mistakes make in the Old.
Reading only bits and pieces of scripture, is honestly like reading a few sentences here and there, randomly picked from a novel. The phrases might make sense if someone told you “about” the story… the context. But you would not understand their meaning and really connect with the characters… not fully be drawn into the novel, as if you read it from the beginning yourself.
You really must read the whole Bible, chronologically
to understand who God really is!
So I am going to challenge you to think about that for this upcoming January.
And I know it seems quite a few months away.
But these holidays sneak up on us,
and then they fly by.
And before you know it, we will be facing the New Year.
But timing of this challenge, is that…
in my chronological study,
THURSDAY is the day I begin the New Testament.
And I thought, what a great time to invite YOU!
If you want to join me now, that would be great, because…
I will be changing the format of my devotional page anyway
to follow the readings.
And you will see that in my morning post.
Or if you are a already a subscriber, it will be delivered to your email.
I’ve included a links above so you can either…
follow along with a downloadable calendar online, using your own bible,
or purchase a chronological Bible.
Either is easy to use.
If you begin now, when January rolls around, you will not have another
resolution to make. The habit will already be formed!
God’s truth is simply so life changing!
But He longs for you to seek Him and know Him for yourself.
Don’t be afraid or intimidated by the Bible.
You do not need to go to a special school to understand it’s truths.
Simply asking God to open the eyes of your heart to His wisdom is all you need.
Won’t you join me… in seeking, knowing and walking in His TRUTH?
If you don’t currently subscribe to my emails, this would be a great time to start.
Just click on the browser and hop over to my website if you’re not reading from there…

No worries… I am not legally or financially promoting the linked items above.
